Dimensional metrology for semiconductors & quality assurance

Confocal chromatic sensors in the IFS2402, IFS2403 and IFS2404 product ranges from Micro-Epsilon Messtechnik are equipped with GRINTECH optics. This enables the sensors to achieve extremely high accuracy in distance and thickness measurement. For this reason, the sensors are used for various measuring tasks in the semiconductor industry and quality assurance.

Automation

Laser profile scanners from the scanCONTROL series by Micro-Epsilon are equipped with GRINTECH laser lines. The scanners are used for profile and 3D measurements on the production line. The high-quality optical components enable a stable measurement signal – the basis for precise measurements.

Automotive

The Multipoint Vibrometer MPV-800 from Polytec records vibrations with time and frequency resolution for the first time without contact and synchronously in up to 48 channels. The fiber heads used for this purpose are largely manufactured by GRINTECH.

NeuroScience

GRIN lenses are indispensable tools in neuroscience, providing high-resolution, minimally invasive imaging of neurons deep in the brains of living animals. Their special optical design allows researchers to study brain function and neural circuits with unprecedented clarity, providing valuable insights into brain activity and behavior.

The collaboration between two industry leaders – GRINTECH and Inscopix – has further expanded the potential of GRIN lenses in neuroscience. Inscopix, the leading developer of all-optical miniscope platforms for real-time imaging of freely behaving animals, is bringing cutting-edge innovations to the market. By integrating GRIN lenses and systems into Inscopix miniscopes, researchers can now capture brain activity during natural behaviors at cellular resolution. This enables major discoveries in brain and neurological research.

Cancer Research

Immediate and high-resolution endomicroscopic imaging diagnostics of tumor tissue (so-called optical biopsy) during endoscopy of patients would be a major advance in the rapid and reliable detection of cancers, so that tissue removal for conventional pathological examination can be carried out much more precisely or may later become superfluous. The high-resolution and reliable detection of tumor margins during the surgical removal of tumors also significantly improves the risk of recurrence while minimizing the loss of function. GRINTECH has been researching and developing adapted optics and endomicroscopy devices for marker-free non-linear endomicroscopy with partners for many years, e.g. with the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology and Jena University Hospital.

Optical Analytics/Spectroscopy

GRINTECH is a partner for the development and manufacture of miniature fiber optic detection modules for optical analysis, e.g. using Raman or fluorescence spectroscopy. Such modules are used, for example, in pharmaceutical spectroscopy, multi-gas sensor technology or the analysis of body fluids.

Endomicroscopy

With its high-NA miniature objectives and needle endomicroscopy optics, GRINTECH enables outstanding scientific solutions and thus supports research partners worldwide. Numerous publications document this impressively.
