GRINTECH GmbH, a microoptics company of Jena in Germany, develops and manufactures gradient index lenses and lens systems for applications in biomedical engineering and endoscopy, sensor system, diode laser beam shaping and telecommunication.

GRIN-lenses are miniaturized lenses having extraordinary good optical performance and flat optical surfaces. The optical power is achieved by a refractive index (GRadient INdex) profile generated by a silver concentration profile. Rod and cylindrical lenses are fabricated by the unique non-toxic silver ion-exchange technique in glass.
